The honest answer is any time. The Eastern Cape has a mild climate and Addo is malaria free all year.
Winter, from June to August, brings dry bush and animals gathering at waterholes. Game viewing is often excellent.
Summer is green and warm, with newborn animals and longer days. Dolphins are in Algoa Bay all year, and whales pass through in the cooler months.
Spring and autumn are quieter, cheaper and very pleasant. If you have flexible dates, these months are a smart choice.
